Global Secure Orientation

The U.S. is about as famous as a country can get. People around the world sometimes judge America based on American films and TV shows but in reality these portrayals often add to the confusion of the more than 65 million visitors that travel to America each year in search of tourism, cultural exchange programs, employment or to benefit from our world renowned hospitals and universities.

The Unites States, perhaps more so than any other country, presents an unique challenge to visitors because of the wide range of American culture and customs, which vary greatly by neighborhood, city and state.

Unfortunately, even simple subjects like the “local language” for finding transportation can be overwhelming for international students and visitors, as they try to navigate the T (metro bus and train system), purchase their Charlie Card (fare ticket), subscribe to Uber (alternate taxi system), rent a ZIP (car sharing program), use EZ pass (toll payment) or borrow wheels from Hubway (bicycle sharing program).

We believe that knowledge contributes to a safe, productive and enjoyable stay and with GLOSEC Orientation we take the mystery out of life in the United States. Our Orientation program for international students and visitors is based on the same principles utilized  by Embassies throughout the world to ensure that Diplomats and their family have the resources to  acclimate to their new environment.  In addition, our team of psychological experts will explore the effects of “culture shock” since international students and visitors over time develop symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, loneliness, lack of concentration and for some, suicidal tendencies.

Regardless of the length of stay in the United States, visitors will find it important to attend our orientation to understand the potential obstacles and cultural nuances they may encounter during their visit. Topics covered include:

lostOur services may also be tailored to assist with additional requirements such as setting up banking and finance, establishing communications and phone services, applying for licenses and permits, and if required locating safe and secure housing.
At Global Secure resources we understand that leaving the familiar behind and plunging into the unknown shows a commitment to understanding other people and cultures; and a commitment to learning about the world in a way that books, school assignments, and a professional career can never reveal.

As you prepare to embark on your adventure, rest assured that we are there to lend support and provide the resources you need to make this dream a reality.
